The Agnes Reinhold Kiezhaus is a neighborhood social center in Berlin’s Wedding district.

Since its opening in October 2018, the Kiezhaus has served as a permanent space for community gatherings, mutual aid, counseling, and shared meals. The space is funded through sustaining memberships and regular donations. As a vital neighborhood institution, it facilitates respectful dialogue among community members while practicing tangible solidarity and collective care.

All Kiezhaus programs are united by their dual focus on addressing both the structural roots of social inequality and the immediate consequences of current policies, while empowering community self-advocacy. We believe that only through collective action – regardless of age, gender, or background – can we combat housing insecurity, exploitative rents, poverty wages, and precarious living conditions. We envision a society built on social equity rather than profit maximization.

Our autonomous support services assist community members facing issues like utility bill exploitation or harassment within the welfare system (Bürgergeld). The weekly neighborhood kitchen invites all to cook and share meals together – whether occasionally or regularly.

Committed to international solidarity, we actively promote peaceful coexistence and equitable cooperation between nation states, including fair technology and knowledge exchange. Overcoming systemic global inequalities and dependencies remains central to our mission. Accordingly, we seek connections with social centers and political movements worldwide that share our vision.

Political education – through exhibitions, readings, film screenings, and discussions – forms the foundation of our work. We believe critical knowledge and equitable dialogue empower people to fight for their rights and more dignified lives.

Beyond sustaining memberships, everyone can participate in decision-making and long-term co-creation of our programs – this collaborative spirit sustains the Kiezhaus.
